If they searched your credit report already then would have made sense to see what happened with the application.
You can have up to 5 MBNA backed cards. And you can transfer the limits between them. So even if the "new" card only offered you a £500 limit, you could have moved £3k from your Virgin card across and did the SBT to clear your Virgin card. Would have left you £7k on the Virgin card to use for your normal day to day stuff.
List of who backs which cards is on same site as the LOB details http://www.stoozing.com/cards.php"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -

I want to BT them to a LOB card, and stupidly applied for the MBNA fee free one, I hadn't realised Virgin was MBNA (is there a list anywhere to keep me right?). So will MBNA automatically discard my application or should I wait and see?
I have 3 MBNA cards under the same login - Manchester United (yay!), Play.com card and the AA credit card.0 -

Hope your MBNA backed N&P card is mounted and framed as piece of credit card history
Wouldn't have been opened in the old N&P branch in West Blackhall Street would it? That's real ancient history."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -

Can I confirm as couple of things with the experts, the girlfriend has a Virgin card that has a very healthy credit limit and has come to the end of its 0% and has been paid off but Virgin are not offering any repeat deals at the moment.
If she was to apply for say the MNBA Platinum card could she transfer the credit limit on the Virgin card accross to the Platinum card and use the total of both credit limits for the 13 months 0% ? if so is this done with a call to the customer services of the Platinum card ?0 -

Yes. Either customer services can do it - they're the same people"A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
