Man your signature is as camp as they get!
Never heard of puppy linux. Any BSD is typically good but it's more UNIX and less Linux, like Slackware-esque. Not much of this pretty rubbish the linux shops are pumping out these days >;-)0 -
puppy is famous for being small (60MB or so), try a live CD if you want to play with it.. why do you ask?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I installed Puppy Linux onto a 486 90MHz laptop with a mere 16MB of RAM. It ran great.
Puppy Linux is a bit strange in that you format the drive with the FAT (16-bit) file system, and use DOS to boot Linux... if I remember rightly.0 -

(my old Dell GX1 400, with 180 meg of RAM, boots in under a minute from CD, over half that time is the BIOS check.)
As mentioned above you can run it from a "live CD". Find out about it here:

The most recent version 2.02 installs in a relatively quick and painless way,
and is superficially a bit like Windows 95, but...
Linux is not Windows
If you enjoy modifying the way the operating system is put together, or maybe
spending some hours getting the printer to work, it might suit you.
On the plus side, you can download all you need for free, and the support and
effort which is put into it all is amazing.
If you want a computer that "just works" with minimal effort on your part, perhaps a
modern PC, or Mac, with up to date virus checker and spyware removal software
which is used regularly is probably what you need.0
