Car insurance claim against me from 3 months ago

Hi, needing a little help here.
Background story.
Just after new year, my boyfriend slid on some ice while driving my car and slid into someone elses car. (rear side by the back door)
There was no visible damage, but they exchanged details etc just to be on the safe side.
They agreed to call if they found any damage when they arrived home, but never did, so we presumed that was the end of it.
Today i recieved a letter from my insurance company to say they are making a claim against me (3 months after accident). The claim says they are claiming for me colliding into the rear or their car.
What can I do about this?
I seriously doubt that the claim they are making is our fault, why report it so late? My guess is they have probably done some damage to their car and are trying to pass it off as our fault.
need to call my insuarance company tomorrow, but what do I tell them? I didn't report the accident in the first place.

this is exactly why all accidents should be reported, all you can do is be totally honest now.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0
