Options
Right on the 27th feb 2010 i purchased a laptop from argos and just now i picked it up and was moving it towards me and my thumb was on the screen well the screen looks like it has cracked for about two inches..the pressure was very very light and should not of cracked it. i have a three year warranty but the box says it is with samsung...where do i stand? thanks all
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Hmmm. Tricky.

Contract of Sale (SOGA) is with Argos. Guarantee obligations with Samsung.

You know they are going to say that it was misuse so be prepared for an argument....

Have you even spoken to Argos/Samsung about it?
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
  • Did you pick it up by the screen?

If it looks like accidental / deliberate damage then it's unlikely a judge will agree with you, especially if you tell them you picked it up by the screen.

Just call Samsung and avoid the court room drama yet.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • hiya, i had to ring samsung yesterday about my netbook. on the options i remeber something about argos being mentioned. you dont speak to anyone for about 5 mins, you just go through the automated thing. mayb try giving them a ring.

If you picked it up by the screen, then it's accidental damage caused by yourself.

You'll need to call Samsung before Argos will do anything. I think they go through a trouble shooting process first. They may refer you back to Argos - the laptop will probably be sent for repair but you'd be charged for this as accidental damage

The screen lid yes, the screen itself no, unless you have a fancy touchscreen, which I'm guessing yoiu don't. Why are you so keen to go to the small claims court, have you even bothered to speak to Argos or Samsung yet?
