oooooooooooh, wonder if anyone here can help me then?

Had my appointment with cccs on thursday, girl was lovely and ever so helpful. :T However, have been told that to go bankrupt we now have to sit back and wait until one of our creditors make us bankrupt.

Have been advised to offer token payments of £5. in the meantime.

Has anyone else been through this? How long did it take?

Any help gratefully appreciated, lol. ;)
hi i am in the same situation as you i offered token payments but they were ignored ,recieved constant phone calls so changed my number, recieving letters ,filing them so the wait goes on problem is i dont have any secured debt so have to wait like you.i stopped paying jan this year.

  • Once again, thanks for the replies my fellow skint friends. :rotfl:

Have received all the paperwork from cccs, just ran off 13 copies,
and will send off, (recorded delivery) later today offering suggested token payments. Have also requested that they DONT telephone and communicate by letter only. (fat chance!!!!!) ;)

Now we just have to sit back and wait for the long process of someone making us bankrupt. :(

    Fingers crossed,
    xxx

    Hi,

that's right. I think it's usually council tax who apply for statutory demands or charge for payments. You need one of these before you can apply for bankruptcy.

I'm not sure, but I think the Low Income Low Asset (LILA) is different?

I would take the advice of the cccs and as for how long it takes - We hadn't paid council tax for at least 2 years. :o

I'm in Scotland too, haven't paid council tax (or any other debts which I had prior to 2006) since 2006 and never even made any token payments, and it's only a few months ago that I got a charge for payment (for the council tax), so it took them almost 4 years.

If you qualify for LILA though, I'm pretty sure you don't even need a charge for payment or statutory demand (sent my application yesterday).
