Hi,
I had my telephone interview with my trustee today, she was very nice and confirmed my bankruptcy. I actually answered the phone this afternoon - It's amazing how much lighter I feel! If anyone is going through scottish bankruptcy and got any questions, feel free to ask! (I know there's not much scottish info out there!)

Hi, psp 1234,
Glad to hear that the interveiw with the your trustee went well today.:T
I have recvd a letter from the accountants who are going to be dealing with my case but my trustee will still be the AIB does that sound right to you????
I hope you dont mind me asking but what sort of questions did the ask you and how long did the interview take....
It seems that we are both going through this at around the same which is nice in a way as it allows me to follow how you are doing and hopefully vise versa.

Hi,
ask away:) I'm glad to help at a traumatic time! We received a letter from Wyllie & Bisset Accountants who work on behalf of AIB. AIB are still your trustees but from now you'll deal with your accountant - hopefully you'll get one as nice as mine!
The interview, by phone, lasted about 40 mins, she asked if we had any questions first and why you thought you had to become bankrupt. Then ran thro the list of creditors (I'd kept a copy I'd originally sent to AIB), what bank accounts we held and how much was in them, any assets. Then she went thro income and expenditure. Things like haircuts and holidays didn't get mentioned. She automatically added £80 for clothing and she also added car expenses. Anything out of the ordinary, definately mention, as she allowed for additional money for spare glasses for my daughter and also allowed a small loan repayment to my parents in law.
She then ran thro what you're allowed and not allowed to do and confirmed a payment to be made. If you're working they have to take something.
She also said any correspondance from creditors has to be posted to them or give them their phone number.
I hope it goes well for you, have you got a date for your interview yet?

Just remember you are required to notify them of any changes in income. Not too sure about LILA but usually with aib your bankrupt for a year but continue to make payments for the 3 year period.0 -
As henderson says, you're legally required to tell your trustee about any change in circumstances, such as now working full time.
If you've already told them about the change in your circumstances, and they haven't asked for an IPA by now, then I'd stick my neck out and say that they're unlikely to do so at this late stage.

oooooooooooh, wonder if anyone here can help me then?
Had my appointment with cccs on thursday, girl was lovely and ever so helpful. :T However, have been told that to go bankrupt we now have to sit back and wait until one of our creditors make us bankrupt.
Have been advised to offer token payments of £5. in the meantime.
Has anyone else been through this? How long did it take?
Any help gratefully appreciated, lol.

Hi,
that's right. I think it's usually council tax who apply for statutory demands or charge for payments. You need one of these before you can apply for bankruptcy.
I'm not sure, but I think the Low Income Low Asset (LILA) is different?
I would take the advice of the cccs and as for how long it takes - We hadn't paid council tax for at least 2 years.
