When is the cheapest to put the gas on? I'm on click pay as you go with British Gas. Is it during the day the gas gets charged at the lower tariff?

Tier 1 applies to the first 2680 kWh per annum and all
subsequent consumption is charged at Tier 2.

But that's not time of day - that's just a two tier charging system that removes the daily standing charge.

no idea how I work that out and dont think i want to lol. Was thinking of just using the gas to heat water. Use electric fire to heat up, more cheaper. Fed up spending a lot on gas

Electricity costs 3 times more than gas per KW/h, so your cunning plan would cost you a small fortune!

I think we are ALL fed up of the cost of our utilities now!

It's far cheaper to heat your house and your hot water using gas than electricity. If you want to pay less you either need to switch supplier/ tariff or use less heating and hot water! Double insulate the loft, get cavity wall done if possible, put thermal linings on all your curtains and keep them drawn, turn the thermostat down a degree or two, turn the heating off an hour before you go to bed, wear thick socks and an extra sweater, cover your legs with a fluffy blanket when you are on the sofa, an electric underblanket when you are in bed.
