Cheap lawn feed

Hi,

I was looking to start a lawn feed quite soon, in the past i've used the big bags of lawn feed pellets from B&Q. However I've noticed that i can get a box of chicken manure pellets twice the size for half the price, can anyone tell me if this can be used on lawns? It only mentions borders on the box, nothing about lawns. A few searches have proved fruitless. Thanks.

I've scattered the chicken pellets on my lawns for several years.
I sprinkle a good handful per square yard/metre a couple of times during the growing season when it gonna be watered in a bit with rain.

Not saying it's gospel true, but my belief is that weeds in a lawn are less germinate on a fed lawn. At least it has been so in my own experience.

Even better although sometimes i find the pound shops tend to be a bit hit and miss stock wise, i.e, some shops have certain items, others don't. I'll give them a try though.
