Recommend a cordless drill

Hiya,

Anyone any recommendations for a reasonable quality cordless drill? I'm thinking that as it's 20% off everything at B&Q this weekend, now might be a good time to get one.

Was thinking of something in the £50-100 bracket.

Cheers

Pete

B & Q have an 18v makita cordless drill for £100, reduced from £200. Can't post a link for you because I'm a noobie but you can search their website for it.

    Any of them.

Despite the what the brand fan boi's will say, there really is not much difference with all the main brands - just pick one with the features you need.

So was £200, now £100, with 20% off £80. Excellent deal me thinks.

I picked up a Ryobi 18v with 2 batteries and case for £60 last time they had the 20% off weekend, i'm very chuffed with it.

I have the same drill bought as part of a set, its pretty decent but could do with a bit more power - however for the money it is very good.

Nice and light the batteries aren't the biggest but it has 2 and they will fast charge.

Almost any drill you get for under £100 will be very good for domestic use. Consider getting a 14.4V/12V drill instead of 18V if you don't need the power- they are much lighter.
Other feature to consider is hammer action for drilling into bricks.

Whatever you get, make sure that it has got two batteries and a fast charger. I replaced my old Bosch with an AEC from B&Q last year for about £70. The replacement batteries for the Bosch were over £110, so I gave it away and bought the AEC. Nice bit of gear.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
