Anybody help ? Friend applied for the card yesterday online and at the end was inform they would be in touch.
Declined or is that normal for Vanquis?

    But there are several vanquis threads already on here. You could have asked on a number of them - or the sub prime thread -rather than starting a new one.

    Either way it's near as makes no difference unheard of for Vanquis to give an instant decision.

    Don't let your friend spend more than s/he can afford to repay in full each month and do your best to ensure they do just that - this is not a card to be used for borrowing! The interest is abominable and this car should only be used to build up a positive credit history and repaid in full each month.

    You see, I don't actually think that this is the case. Vanquis give, in the grand scheme of things, pretty low limits. My card usually has a balance on it, but even if I maxed it out (£500 limit, which I don't) the interest wouldn't be crippling..

    It wouldn't be money saving, but it also wouldn't be financially devastating either.

    There is no shame in getting a Vanquis - it has helped many build or repair a credit history.
