How long to wait before reapplying for Current Account?

Well, 4 weeks ago I applied for a FlexAccount with Nationwide as I really wanted to take advantage lower foreign currency fees (wasn't worried about the £75 so didn't request to switch).
Didn't ask for an overdraft, no savings account, just the current account.
After waiting until now I called to find out what was going on as they hadn't bothered to contact me and let me know their decision. Well, I got declined and all the person on the phone could tell me was the decision was referred and declined.
The question, how long should I wait before trying again? Should I bother? Did they pick me out as a wannabe moneysaving scumbag? Should I do a 'switch' next time, get an overdraft and open a savings account?
(Its odd as I overdrafts with HSBC, FD, A&L and Halifax and a credit card and I owe nothing on any of them. Obviously to get all of these my credit record is fine, electorally enrolled and my credit report shows 0's from my phone company and HSBC going back to when I arrived in the country mid 2008. I have no searches but bar Halifax account which is fairly new.)

Nationwide has wised up to those just wanting the flexaccount for this reason. I could be wrong but maybe just a purely commercial decision and nothing to do with how they rate you.RIP independent MSE.

I had the same problem and we did it has a joint account which would have significant money going in. You have to wait 6 months to reapply. However they continued to open a cashpoint card. Wel that's really useful when trying to buy stuff!!!!
Nationwide are turning so much down don't feel it is you, just tell them where to stick their account. Did then not offer you a0 -
Nationwide are naff anyway. I left them years ago because they sucked. Think of it as a blessing in disguise. :T:T0
