Euro car parks fine

can anyone please help me, i parked over christmas in a euro car parks park, and i didnt realise i was in a disabled bay as it was all iced over and no markings were visible, however 4 hours later i was given a ticket and the bay was photographed with still lots of ice visible but also the diabled markings visible.i appealed the ticket on the ground when i arrived the bay was iced over and i didnt know, but they have enforced it and are now threatening debt collectors on me. any advice?

Offer to give them a sincere apology. They would have to take you to court if you decide you will not pay.

loztiggy, you need to get over to the parking fines thread. Loads of advice on there. But essentially, you need do absolutely nothing. Ignore them - completely.

To put the record straight, this is not a "fine" (only the council, the police and the courts can impose those), it's just an unenforceable invoice. Also disabled bays have no legal basis in private car parks, so no law has been broken. A private parking company cannot set itself as judge and jury and impose an arbitrary sum such as this.

As per the advice above, it's best if you get yourself over to the parking penalties section of this forum for more advice.
