Improving credit rating

Options
We're currently trying to improve my partner's credit score, as he's had difficulty getting credit, and eventually, we would like to apply for a mortgage - right now this would be tricky to say the least. We've now signed up for the Creditbuilder cashplus mastercard/loan for him, so that should start to help in a few months.

We have our own company and most of our bills go through the business, so we don't have much money going through his account. I was thinking about other ways we can show him paying for stuff, but don't know what would impact on the credit report positively.

The following can't go through his account:
- Rent
- Mobiles / Telephone / Internet
- Utilities

However, would it help if he was paying the council tax personally? Or water rates? Are there any bills it would be really good for him to be paying through his account that would have a good effect on his score.

Thank you!
