What can I claim for please? Rail tickets

Had a BIG birthday and anniversary at the weekend. Decided to go down to London in style first class advance tickets with breakfast on board the train. Well, the train had only a tiny 1st class area and no seats together - no numbers on seats so we couldnt claim our reserved places. We had to sit in a very noisy 2nd class compartment. On top of that, no cafeteria on the train. By the time we got to London, no drinks or eats my stomach was playing up.

Next day return journey, the train kept stopping and we missed the connection and arrived home over an hour late. We had to sit on a below freezing cold platform for over half an hour, cafe closed waiting for the next connecting train.

What can I claim back from National Express trains without going over the top (which is how I feel).

I take it that you travelled by National Express East Anglia, if it was a different train company then please repost, but under their Delay repay scheme your entitled some compensation but it will be in the form of rail vouchers.
