Credit Card for self-employed? Need advice!

I'm looking for advice.
Current situation:
I just started being self employed but business is slow. I haven't yet registered as self employed at the tax office. (I think there's a 3 month limit before I get a £100 fine, but I'd like to get a credit card first.)
I currently have a self service card with HSBC with £6-8k in my savings.
Can I apply for a credit card? What information will I need being self employed?
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
