Boris is now having to clear up his mess.
who says it didn't exist. ken managed to get more cooperation from the unions and management. that is what improved things.
he was also a tube user and a londoner through and through. i saw him on a very busy carriage once travelling with two of his grandkids (at least i assume they were his grandkids). Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
Ken is, by his own admission, a heartless moron. I agree 100%.0

this country is utterly utterly f*cked!!
thanks New Labour.
A lot of people forget the !!!!!! we are in is a result of a worldwide recession not just Labours doing.....
Toyota are shedding 300 + jobs. The fact that they have been building cars with dodgy brakes recently has fk all to do with Labour either.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

Everyone screwed up yes.
But that doesnt mean that GB didnt casue the UK recession. It's his fault, as it was his polices that brought us to the point of state collapse.0 -

Is he tube really worse than when ken was about?
Crikey, how does anyone get to work?
TBH I thinklondon tube system is ace. I like it, but feel it already understaffed...it might not feel so on a crowded platform day time, but for a female travelling alone in the evening platform staff presense would feel safer. For the same reason, I miss bus conductors and wonder how bus drivers must feel sometimes alone.
I also miss really great bus drivers. i had an ace bus driver once in Battersea, we used to pass pleasantries, and when it rained, he'd pause by the door I needed (regular route...) it was fun, people on the bus smiled nervously at each other (which for non-londoners I should explain is like a party...).
Its sad when bus drivers have weak English and don't know the ''detail'' of their routes well...both for london resident s and for tourists, bu also just for...society.0 -

yes. noticeably. and the number of line closures has gone up.lostinrates wrote: »Is he tube really worse than when ken was about?
i didn't agree with him on the bendy buses though. they are horrible. and something about the seating configuration seems to make it all feel more menacing. give me front seat top floor of a double decker.
i loved the hop on hop off but health and safety won't allow it these days. i don't know if there were really that many accidents as a result of them though. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
