amazon returns

Hi

I bought my son a Timex watch on 18th decmber 2009 for my son . The watch is water resistant to 30 metres . Yesterday the watch stopped working and there is condesation in the glass . As he washes his hands in the sink plays in water it will have got wet . I have looked on amazons website and there is no option to return and it say to contact the manufacturer . I was led to believe that my contract was with Amazon not the manufacturer is this correct .

You are right - Amazon should deal with this as the retailer. However, as Amazon will send it back to the manufacturer for checking and this introduces unnecessary steps into the equation, why not cut the middle man and send it to Timex?

I've just checked the link (cute watch btw) and I'm sure you can go via Amazon for a return... the below is from amazon. I clicked the link at the bottom Amazon.co.uk Returns & Exchanges, then clicked the Returning an Item after 30 days link.

"If the item becomes defective (after 30 days of receipt)

Please keep all the warranty information that accompanies your item as this may be needed should there be a fault. In the unlikely event that you have a faulty item, you may find it quicker and easier to contact the manufacturer directly so that they can rectify the problem for you. In case the item has become defective after 30 days you can also contact us to obtain returns information."
