Reasonably priced patio planters

Looking for quite a few of these. Dont mind ceramic or plastic. I have some lilies etc to plant and prefer them in tubs. Has anybody seen any going cheap?

Poundland have some nice ones. I've just bought some for a couple of stray plants that needed gathering up.
Obviously, they aren't huge like you would get in a garden centre, but there's some decent size ones.
This one is probably about the biggest.
    Well worth a look!

I have just bought some "self-watering" pots from Lidl, for £4 each (special offer), quite big. There is a water reservoir in the bottom, a perforated floor above it to hold the compost, and a wicking device to move water into the compost as needed.

If you google Earthbox, you will see the principle explained. Lidl seems to have produced something similar at a fraction of the price.

I have made an imitation earthbox myself, using two plastic crates and a lot of cross words. This Lidl version is cheaper than that, and saves you the trouble, and looks nicer.

This shows the trough shape, but they do square ones on the same principle.
  • morrisons still have their big £4 terracotta pots. I bought 6 of them and put them round the garden, they look fab.

These are the largest I found:

I bought 90cm ones, an they were half price in the garden centre (£18 - I know, pricey, but I wanted the good sized ones, so I can plant some veggies. I have sown carrots in one of them now!)

Oh, and I bought some of these too - also half price:

  • The poundland one looks about the right size, I will go and get some when I can brave the torment of Meadowhell. I will go to Morrisons or Lidl if I just cant bear it!

We dont have a poundLAND any nearer, but Im wondering if they will have some at poundWORLD as there is one nearby.
