Hi, I took out a loan with natwest in 2005 for 21k I was 'advised' to take ppi as loan large amount it would b more likley to b accepted???
I wrote to them 8 weeks ago with the template letter they replied with they are investigating the matter, then another letter 4 weeks later stating the same, then another letter this week (8 weeks) sayin they are still investigating the matter and that i can go to the ombudsman if i am not happy or just wait for them to finish there investigation?????
I am confused as to what to do - do I wait for them or go to the ombudsman?????
Sorry if this seems a silly question but just looking for some advice?:D
TIA

Hi TIA
As they all have backlogs to deal with it seems that everyone are in the same situation here, but the choice is obviously yours if you want to go to the FOS know, please be aware though the FOS may also take some time to be dealt with again due to large volumes of these complaints.
One thing is though, they are keeping you posted, where some do not hear anything
, so its up to you hun, it may be worth just waiting that little longer, hopefully for a good result, fingers crossed.;) The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanx 4 the advice
But if i now go to the ombudsmen will it not be dealt with by rbs??? Sorry should make that clearer - What i mean is, if i write to the ombudsmen could there be a chance that rbs could come to a decision in the mean time or does the FOS take it over completley???? (sounds clear as mud):rotfl:
Thanx0 -

Sorry dont know the answer to the above. However when we got the same correspondance about taking longer I replied saying that I appreciated that they were very busy with claims and would be happy to give them a further month, this worked and they kept in touch and settled. If you write remember to keep a copy and send by recorded delivery. Hope this helps0 -

Hi there and your welcome.:D;)
Right you could still do this but the snag here is as soon as the FOS receives your file, before it goes on in the queue for adjudication, they contact the bank for information from them, where then the RBS will possibly stop investigating your case.
Its a chance you take really, another way is to wait to see if they do come back with a decision by the date they more or less give etc, and if you hear nothing then, as they have had ample time and already had ample time really then continue with the FOS.
Fingers crossed for a good result on this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
