Lloyds Card Payment to 77-29-00 00000000

I am trying to set up a payment to my LTSB Credit card from my A&L Current account, I set it up with Sort Code: 77-29-00 and Account Number: 00000000 and my card number as the reference number, but it changes the account number from 00000000 to 99999999 does this matter as I don't want my payment to get lost ?.

Thanks.

Best to phone LTSB and confirm.

You could always try sending a payment of a quid... If it arrives, great, you know if works. If not, you've only lost a pound :-)

00000000 doesn't even look like a real account number. Double check your credit card statements for their account number and sort code, it should be on the back.

The zeroes are correct and valid - it means that the sort code is unique to LTSB cards and there are no individual account numbers behind it. Your card number in the reference field is what sorts it out when the payment arrives

I've had trouble with A&L accounts not liking this in the past - I think the payee advised a different sort code/proper account number in the end. I thought it had been fixed - but evidently not.

Whether the all 9s will work - dunno. In theory yes. But not sure I'd want to risk it.

Very strange since A&L themselves use the same '8 zero' collection account number format for their savings accounts...

As a previous poster said, try it with £1 first - which is something I do with all my credit cards as soon as I get them. Saves all this grief when you come to make a payment 'in anger'.

    It does matter.
