PO credit card vs Nationwide credit card

Hi,
Does anyone know which card gives a better FX rate when transacting outside of Europe? I know that Nationwide has a 1% loading while PO does not, but im wondering if perhaps the PO card builds the 1% into its FX rate or something. ie. PO is only cheaper if the base FX rates are the same. I know PO is Mastercard while Nationwidw's is Visa - not sure what difference that makes.
Would be interested to hear peoples's thoughts as to which one actually works out cheaper.
Cheers

I have a similar question. I'm going to South Africa and have both a Nationwide credit and debit card. Is is it any advantage in using either one or the other? They both charge 1% but, by using the credit card other than for cash transactions, I suppose it gives me a bit of time to pay the account, rather than having to load my debit card account. I have looked at the Thomas Cook charge card, but they charge 1% for cash withdrawals, and the PO card process was too complicated, and I wouldn't go near Santander! It would be interesting to hear others views on this.0

I've heard (from reading other posts on this forum) there is no real difference between the exchange rates between Post Office and Nationwide - so the Post Office remains cheaper as it doesn't charge the 1% admin fee.0

i have used both cards in canada, as well as santander zero, there is never much difference between the exchange rates at all, when i have used them on the same day has been litterally 1p difference if any at all. (more often than not has been no differenc)
so as per the above poster, as there is no additional charge then the post office and santander zero are the lower cost cards to use than nationwide out of europeMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,074.79 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at March 2025 - £1500.0 -

Well I would have certainly used the credit card for purchases, just in case it gets cloned or anything (which can happen easily abroad) it will be easier to get the money back then from debit card.0 -
You can also get £18 cashback by applying for the Post Office Credit Card via Topcashback.0
