Thurs 11th March - What small DFW things have you done today??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Goooood morning!

Hope all well today Lovely and sunny here, just need it to warm up a bit!
Off to work for the morning for me...then to Tesco to return some trousers, Argos to return some canisters and buy a half price lawn mower. And going to see my college tutor about everything and how far behind I am...booo. But....I did get one part of an assignment done yesterday...big cheer for me

Ok...list for today:
...coming your way if you need one!

Morning all,
Today I will:
Go to work
Check online banking
Shower rather than bath
See to cats
Take kitchen rubbish out
Enter comps
Dinner from meal plan
Take lunch to work
Check job sites
Didn't get that job from last week..which I am glad about actually as they really messed me about this week, hopefully will get the job from the interview I had on Monday?
BY the way...Does anyone know how you can get hold of old episodes of Holby City?
Hope everyone has a good day!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Morning - Hoping to try and set myself small targets and stick to them -
Today I will -
Not over eat - only eat when I am hungry and drink plenty !!
Turn the house upside down for a broken laptop I have to see if I can sell it !
Cleaning
Laundry
Go to Tesco and put £1.50 clubcard voucher towards a small shop ( Spend no more than £10 !)
Read through some diaries on here for inspiration (need motivating)0 -
Hey stoke lady - good idea about the small targets - you've lots to get on with on that list!!! It would take me forever to clean the house here etc - its chaos!
I love clubcard points - trying to see if I can use them on some kind of EoN deal - but thus far not coming up with much luck (any ideas chaps - the tariff that suits me doesn't give points) - we don't have petrol here so I'm trying to find better ways of using/getting points - just ordered my next magazine subby through clubcard deals - woo hoo - gardeners worlds for free for me - yippee. DS upset cos his last years magazine subby is nearly expired and can't beleive I've used the vouchers for me this time!
Catmiaow - sorry to hear about work - xTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Sorry BUT this did make me laugh
I know you didn't make the chicken soup from the tortoise cleanings but but it does read a bit like that (sorry) I can't stop giggling:rotfl:
Remember that really old advert for stock cubes...... HERE is a link
Hey T well done on the weight loss - nice to hear you in a lovely up mood today - just a thought if you're mum is away why not invest in a plant for the house or even better for her garden (if she has one) rather than a bunch of flowers - they will last longer - and she can enjoy it for more time? Cut flowers are exobrotant at this time of year - it makes me so mad.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

It does read like that doesn't it?! I promise no tortoises or tortoise litter was harmed in the making of the chicken and leek soup!
Thank for the tip about the flowers - a plant for the garden does sound the better option :T

Hope you don't mind me joining the thread. In spite of being a very-long-time MSE stalker and having had many lightbulb moments I've just had the biggy and am really trying to turn my life around. I've found that visiting this site (and this thread) really helps me focus, so here goes.
Few things for today:
[strike]Check online banking[/strike]
[strike]Check Quidco and do some quick clicking[/strike] £4.92, nice
Transfer funds into "pots" between various accounts
Snowballing action on debt 1 - overpayment
[strike]Meals from larder[/strike] jacket potato and salad for lunch; tea will be fishcake and veg - must use up cabbage
Check spreadsheets and my budgets are up-to-date and all purchases listed.
Think that's enough for today as I'm putting in a 16-hour shift, ouch. (Self-employed, for my sins.) Have the afternoon off tomorrow so have plans for some serious batch cooking and breadmaking. Looking forward to a break from work; have been crazy busy lately.
Good luck with all your DFW endeavours today xEmergencies account: £500/5000 -
