  • as people have already posted Vista is ok if the PC/laptop is up to it

vista is a memory/CPU hog you need 2GB of ram and a 2Ghz processor as a minimum

Windows 7 is really Vista SP3 its much better

remember Win XP was only really sorted with SP2 before was a bit flakey

Win ME was the worst no question

Vista is very good if you've got at least 2 Gb of RAM. I'm now using W7 and that's better though, no question!

I had a E-Systems laptop &,at first Vista Basic was fine,Then later on the updates seemed to swallow up more of the memory & I had frequent system crashes.
My new lappy,a Dell Inspiron, again has Vista Basic on it & so far no problems however I'm looking at upgrading to windows 7.
  • I have, and still use, a 939 as a gaming machine on Vista. It's 'crippled ' by me [ per the above ] the CPU is an old server grade Opteron 180 dual, with stax of DDR433 running O/Clock.

If you have the shiilings, it's a bit upgraded all these years later, the ' manky magny's 12-core ' is a bit better !

BTW if you don't have a spare £20.000 pounds don't look at the URL: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=22480
