Jewellery Insurance claim

Ok it looks like the LA is not happy to accept an email which is understandable in a high value claim such as this. He is asking for physical documents such as the diamond certificate and perhaps the email you received as a hard copy on the jewellers headed paper along with a company stamp if possible.
Have you asked the jeweller if they have a diamond certificate
I have asked the jeweller if there was a certificate apart from the one he supplied me but the answer was no he captured the info from computer records he held the email was on headed paper and a phone number was given0 -

I thought that diamonds had an international market value and did not vary much from one country to another. The certficates confirming the 4C's would be pretty much the same as well. VS1 is for Minor inclusions that are difficult to locate at 10x and I-J is saying the diamond was virtually white.
The point the FOS would want to know, is that did you submit a certificate/valuation confirming the amount paid when arranging cover and was this accepted by the Insurer, without them asking for additional information at the time. If they accepted written evidence of value at the time of providing cover, they have to honour that.
If they don't ask them for final response and go to the FOS.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

Total agree with what you are saying as far as the FSO I feel I can say yes to all points the only thing holding me back is there is a chance that the jeweller may yet come up with a bill he paid for the diamond but this may take a week or so0 -
Hello
I have looked at the price for a similar stone, and that may be why your insurers are being unhlepful.
Found one here http://www.77diamonds.com/loose_diamonds.html
that was 2.5 ct VS1 and I colour, and is just shy of £15000 for the unmounted stone.
Of course they could probably buy it cheaper.0
