reputable villa rental sites

just wondering if anyone can help. we are planning our first family holiday this year, my 2 year old son, my OH and myself. looking at prices for a package holiday i realise it may be cheaper to rent a villa for a week, but i was just wondering if anyone can recommend a site to use that is reliable and affordable, we arent set on where to go but it will be in eurpoe for the sake of taking my son on the flight.
thanks in advance
let he without sin cast the first stone

have a look at vrbo.com as well

one thing to note, in many cases you deal with the owner direct so unless they accept credit card there are no come backs. vrbo however lets you pay for insurance in case something happens but as always look at small print.

One otherb tip, haggle, you will get a better deal that way and most will knock money off. We saved a $1000 on a 3 week rental in the US this year and the year before last got a much bigger place than expect just by pushing them.

    Hi

I actually advertise my disney villa on most of the sites you mention and can recommend them. They requests are sent direct to the owners such as myself and they will then sendyou back a quote for your stay and hopefully a website link to their villa so you can look at the details of what you will be booking.

They then normally pay a fee (or should I say its taken from the amount you pay as a %) and that goes to the website as the advertising cost.

For villas/apartments in NE Spain, Costa Brava north of Girona I use http://www.torrent-api.com/index.asp?idi=3 They are a local estate agent that also rents villas etc. Good service, prices about average.

we booked villas in Javea spain for many years using many of the above rental sites but when the prices started going up we moved to apartments and actually prefer them. The good part is with a 2 year old there would hopefully be other children of the same age and although they obviously won't be playing together unsupervised it gets you chatting to other parents (if that's what you want of course). In javea in particular there are lots of apartments with communal pools (which have never been busy when we've been there even in August) that are also within an easy walk of the sandy beach called the Arenal (god I sound like a travel agent!)
