He's a civil servant now!! Probably go on strike next or moan about 6 weeks holiday and 10 days sick not being enough, let alone the extra bank holidays!!!

Epic fail in your attempt at humour. Thanks for your concern but I've actually had no days off sick in the last years.

The post stemmed from a conversation I had with a bloke in the pub-there's a chance he is a customer. Who knows? I didn't ask.

and seek recovery of any balance owing.

As the "event" would be in breach of the t and c's of the mortgage.

It would be very funny to see the face of whoever the bank send to have a look and all they find is a pile of bricks!

Isn't that the one where the lender assumes you can pay builders and labourers three months in arears, because they only release the money in stages. If you go over budget and can't complete one stage, you get into a catch 22, where the builder won't finish until you pay up, and you can't pay up because the bank won't release the money.

Actually, didn't that happen to the Burj al Khalifa? Sheik al Mahktoum who rules Dubai got a Self-Build penis substitute mortgage, ran out of money, and now he has to stare at Khalifa's penis out of his palace window every day.
