The contraceptive patch (Evra)

Anyone got any experiances with the patch?
Quite a lot of people ive spoken to are not aware of this contraceptive.

Im going to see my nurse on Monday to discuss this as a option as I am currently on the depot injection.

I have used the patch for years and found them to be really easy to use and very reliable with little or no side effects. They are not very often offered to women for some reason i dont know why as they are so much easier than the pill. The only 2 niggling little problems i had with them is if it gets very hot in the summer they can slide off but in the 5yrs i have been using them it has only happened twice and it does have to be very warm and also they do tend to move very slighty only a couple of mm but you can be left with a sticky black mark like a plaster leaves when taken off so you need to be careful that you put it somewhere that it wont show.

Hi, used it for about 6/7 years now and think it's great. I swim a lot and have found that it can come off occasionally then but it's got pretty impressive staying power to be honest. When you first start using it it can be slightly irritable and a bit itchy but this soon goes away. Agree about the black marks though, but I would highly recommend it!
