"Dropping a kid" What a nice way to talk about it!

Child birth would be grate if you could plan, but if you did plan it to fit in with your finances you would not have children!

I believe it smarts a bit, but not sure it can be likened to grating!

  • In today's Britain anything is possible.

You could sue your broker, Halifax, solicitor or a school teacher for not teaching you properly. Why is it not your fault? Why can't people make mistakes anymore.

We are not allowed GG, its always the lack of a support network!

I am sure when I was a kid, I was always told off, grounded, banned from watching TV or whatever, and I generally did not do it again. If I did the same things now the social would be round and I would get a trip to disney land!

I read this and am fuming.....yes fuming!! The very fact my parents brought me into this world means that there is culpability some where along the line. I've spoken to Carl Wright and he agrees that there is an opportunity here.

Any one and everyone get ready to answer your phones.....£495 (refundable unless it all goes wrong) and we will absolutely guarantee to get you compensation for, well.....being born! (honest?)
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!

Don't parents give their 18-yr-olds advice/counsel any more?

Stupid question, I know the answer.

It is generally very difficult to get a complaint of a missold mortgage upheld.

Affordability of any product is a legitimate ground for complaint but lenders will normally check what it says on the application form which the borrower has signed and therefore taken legal responsibility for.

If it is untrue, the mortgage broker may or may not be able to demonstrate that they had reason to believe it was accurate but the borrower is stumped - a crime has been committed and they are the one with the smoking gun.

That can mean not only difficulty with credit in the future but also insurance and certain types of occupation.

In theory you could complain because your income has fallen but you will almost certainly have been given a document called "Key Facts About This Mortgage" which will have made you aware of that risk and you will be deemed to have read it. If neither you nor the broker still has a copy the Halifax almost certainly will.

I don't think you will get out of this hole by digging.

    History repeats itself.

Around 20 years ago folks rushed into buying properties in case they missed the boat.

I know of some who are still paying for mistakes made in their youth.

Stupid question, I know the answer.

Sadly, most parents are not qualified to advise/counsel their children.

Most will not remember the last, Tory-manufactured housing crash and would have believed that prices only ever go up.
