Need Help from a flight finding expert!

Hi I posted a little while ago about a visit I'm planning to a friend in a terminal condition. I now have some money put away and an idea of rough dates.

Basically I need to get from London to Hartford in CT, USA.

I need to take my break before the 26th June. Ideally sometime in June, and I'm flexible about dates, and even the amount of days - something ideally around 5 days, but give or take a day or so on either side if it's cheaper.

I have no idea whether I can get a connecting flight to Hartford, or whether I need to go into a NY airport and then bus/coach it or hire a car to drive. I do know the area so I could take a one way car hire to Hartford from NY if I needed to.

Can anyone help in narrowing down some good deals for me? I just don't know where to start!

If you are wanting to fly to Hartford it appears that you are looking for Brantley airport (BDL code) Looking on Kayak.co.uk for your dates, Air Canada do flights from London via Montreal for £423.
Flights to New York (EWR) for the same dates 16th - 21st are showing as £355

I've done flights to new york and toronto for around 250-300 usually, so I'm surprised even the new york one is much more - and over 400 is just not possible.

Does anyone else have any suggestions of how to find it cheaper?

Don't know how early you can go but LGW-EWR is showing £267 for me with Skyscanner on the airline Iceland Express, never heard of it myself. You have to change in Iceland, as you might have guessed. The price i saw leaves on the 9th and comes back the 15th but other dates might be on offer too.

You could also consider going to Boston rather than New York but I haven't seen anything stunningly cheap headed there.

ok will just need to find out if i can travel up to CT for cheaper by bus!
