Tesco car insurance

I had a bit of a bump driving my husbands car last week - skidded on ice trying to swerve round someone who pulled out in front of me and then stalled (her not me).. I clipped the back of her car and knocked over one of those plastic square light bollards which went under the front of a car going the other way
I spent half an hour on the phone to the insurance company (I am named driver on his policy) going through all the details, every little detail etc gave them the details of the other two cars
Then today he gets a questionnaire for me to fill in with all the same questions on:mad:
Are they trying to trick me into saying something different (its been over a week and I had a family wedding at weekend so mind has been elsewhere anyway) or is this normal..
I didnt have to do when I was involved in an accident in my car - but that was with AXA not tesco

Sounds normal to me.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

No it is not unsual at all. This is a complicated accident so they need written accounts of what happened that they can use to defend the case against the other insurers should they try to blame you for the accident, or make a clear decision on liability themselves. (It sounds like it is the person who pulled out's fault to me).
People who take first notifiations of accidenents do not, in my experience, always put down on the system all the details provided by the client - they should but dont, often first notification services are outsourced and/or handled by the lowest paid claim staff who don't usualy go on and handle the rest of the claim.
The fact that you are being so defencive about having to fill out a form does seem a little suspicious though
!! You have had an accident and so there are concequences including some time to be spent sorting it out. I would be happy they are being thorough and proactive.
Simply be clear in your account, e.g. use bullet points to describe each moment of the incident
- Car A pulled from the junction
- Car A reached the middle of the road, back sticking into my side of the carrigeway (point 1 on diagram) and stalled, stopping at that point. I was at point 2 and immediatly applied the brakes/had already been breaking from point 3...
etc as correct and truthful. A diagram is always very helpful0
