Selling my old car.

I am looking at getting a new car which im hoping to get ordered in the next few weeks. However they have offered me £450 for my old car as part exchange and the sales manager even said it was worth more and advised me to sell it privately. Now i need some advice my car is a Peugeot 206 W reg and has done 62,000 miles. The outside has one medium sized dent in the bonnet and one on the rear and a couple of little scratches and minor dents.
I'm hoping to sell it to use the money towards the new car. But i'm sure what the sort of value is and the best place to sell it?

Any Advice would be very appreciated.
Thanks

For a 10 year old dented car?

I would use the local newsagents and free papers :)

Gumtree is free and I've sold two cars very quickly that way and seems good for cheaper ones. Also 2 weeks on autotrader is only £9.99 (with 25% back through cashback sites if you're into that sort of thing) for cars under £1k

    Similar happened to me.
Get the dealer to value the px into the price of the car and then advertise it.

Put in the advert dealer has offered me £500 (or 550 but slightly higher than the real amount) Needs to be sold for £600 before xxx date or will go for PX.

This sends a clear message that
1- its a bargain as they are getting it for a similar level to the PX price ie well below retail.
2 - No point haggling with you because your quite happy to use it as a PX.

They might knock £25 off you but that way your still better off and have saved yourself enough money for a couple of tanks of fuel.
