Price Promise Guarantee from Halifax

Hi, I have the halifax ultimate reward account. As part of that you get price promise guarantee. I bought an item and have now seen it on sale at £60 less.
The blurb on the insurance states "Everyone can relate to this feeling of frustration: you’ve just treated yourself to buying something – perhaps after having spent ages saving – only to find the same thing in a shop down the road, for a lot less.
Price promise means that when you buy something using your Ultimate Reward debit card you can relax. Because if you see that item cheaper at a different UK retailer’s store or on a UK internet website within 30 days of you buying it, you can claim the difference back from us."
They are saying I can not claim because the item I want 'price promised' is in a sale. They refer to item 2 below. I stated that the discount was available to the general public. They said the 'or' in the clause was the end of that part of the condition! So basically they say you could read the clause as 'Any item which includes a discount'! Maybe it's just my disappointment which makes me feel that it is unclear
is there any point of pursuing it further?
What is not covered
2. An item which includes a discount or any other reduction which was not available to the general public.
Thanks,
Ezman
