Most of those sites paying for academic articles are those flogging assignments to students too dumb/lazy to write their own. Helping them cheat. They submit your work as theirs.

It's true that some of the briefs that come through are blatantly student essays, personally I avoid these ones and go for ones that appear to just be contributing to someone's research or something for a lecturer.
Academic knowledge have done the same to me, sending me stuff that has nothing to do with my area and they don't pay very well so I've avoided them. Currently working on a 3000 word brief for prospect for £120 - not toooooo bad0
