Hi all,

I am after some advice on working tax credit and have allready spokon to the tax office on the phone but still not sure on what they told me.

I have just been offered a new fulltime job which is over 35hrs a week and the new job wage will be £14,000. Due to start March 22nd. I am over 25 years old and we have no children.

The Working Tax credit on the phone said they need to know the amount of Taxable Income we have both had between April 2009 to April 2010 but i am finding it hard to work the amount out to get the correct figure. I do not want to give them the wrong info and end up with a tax overpayment you see. They also said we must have earned below £17,000 a year combind to get Working Tax Credit

I have listed some figures out below for both of us but have not included Working Tax Credit we got during my Self Employment in 2009. Is Working Tax Credit classed as a Taxable Income do you know and should this also be included and calculated with the items below.

My Details
I am currentley getting Contribution Based JSA of £64.30 a week which started on Dec 15th 2009.

I did a Temp Job which was with a local company during Nov 2009 for a few nights in which my P45 says i earned £183.39 but shows as no tax paid.

From 25th June 2009 to 14th Dec 2009 i was self emplyoed doing local IT support but was not making any money as the cost for insurance and adverts was alot so i did not pay myself a wage for this and my end balance was just above £0 on the accounts. I closed this down as it was not good to keep it running.

April 10th 2009 I did 2 Days Temp work which i earned £81.25 before Tax

I was on Jobseekers claiming Contributions bases JSA from Dec 1st 2008 to End of May 2009 but was not sure the amount at the time i was getting. Think it was around £64.00 a week

Partners Details
15th Dec 09 to Present she is on Income based JSA and gets £36.65 per week which tops up the current amount i get to the couple rate.

July 09 to 15th Dec 09 Contributions Based JSA of £50.95 per week

Also did 1 day temp work in Aug and got paid £36.00

ESA from May 09 to July 09 £50.95 per week

April 09 to May 09 1 Month SSP at £79.15 per week

Is there any other better way to work this out LOL. My partner is not sure on some of the dates her item started above

Chris

You do know that the limit is 17k so when your partner gets a job your WTC will stop

Working Tax Credit is not taxible income.

Tax Office won't tell you how much you have earned as its not there responsibilty to keep a record of all this. P60 will have the info and DWP will provide you with a P60 type thing for your JSA.

They may give you assistance in working out the information but they won't just give you it.

Is a P60 not issued for April 09 to April 2010 after next month?

Cheers for all the advice on here.

Managed to find all our P45's and P60;s from the lsat tax year. Workign Tax credit are now sending the form out and they are going to base th claim on the 2009 to 2010 tax year but still require details from 2008 to 2009
