Is a re-claim a complaint?

I recently wrote a letter to Lloyds in an attempt to get back at least some of the charges they have taken from me down the years.
I explained my position ( mortgage arrears, unemployed etc. )
Today I recieved a letter from Lloyds. It would appear that my original letter is being treated as a complaint.
Is this the normal response to a hardship claim? Has anybody else experienced anything similar?

yes its a complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. The FSA defines a complaint as:
‘Any expression of dissatisfaction, whether oral or written, and whether justified or not, from or on behalf of an eligible complainant about the firm’s provision of, or failure to provide, a financial service’.
If they didn't treat it as a complaint you wouldn't be able to take it to FOS if they didn't give you what you want.Getting married 02.08.14
