I was in my local Simply Food today and picked up the leg of Lamb (£13), roasting veg, sticky toffee pudding and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Quite tempted to go back tomorrow and get another different meal, maybe the beef. Or maybe I will wait til Monday and go and get a chicken half price, they looked huge so great value. As other posters said it is way cheaper than going out for Mother's day for a meal. I would reckon this deal may sell out quick though so I would try and get into the stores quick. There's usually not alot left by Saturday afternoon.

Yes, I had a funny feeling it was just 10% discount, but it was the post by kinder kedder that mentioned the 25% discount, but when I looked up the website, it is only French wines that get 25% discount - so look out for the French ones (not sure if any of the meal deal wines are French, or the 3 for £10 are French - perhaps someone could let us know?) Thanks

Raso de la Cruz Grenache Spanish
Raso de la Cruz Macabeo Spanish
    Rose Chardonnay Frizzante Italian
    Ke Sauvignon Blanc Australian
    Ke Cabernet Sauvignon Australian
    Old Man Creek Chardonnay Australian
    Old Man Creek Shiraz Australian

So I think you will be looking at 10% HTH

They don't always have any leftover on Monday.....I was disappointed last time inspite of getting in by 9AM on Monday! Maybe the staff were hungry that day.

If any card holders got their mailing yesterday now is the time to use your 10% off food and drink as they will take 10% off the total of your bill before the meal deal discount :)
  • Many apologies people for causing confusion about the 25% discount. I went back into the Preston store this morning and the offer is still being shown as 25% discount of ANY 6 bottles of wine, not just French wine as it says on the website.

Perhaps they have just not changed the offer over yet in Preston, so today may be a good day to buy that wine.

I'm not saying they will reduce the chickens on Monday, I'm just saying what happened last year. I'm no expert but I think they do stock checks and calculations and if they've got lots of left over bulky items like chickens taking up space and lots of fresh stock coming in, they need to free up the space or the fresh stock will get 'older' in the store room. I might be wrong.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.

  • I just got a half leg of lamb for £15.44, so in effect everything else was thrown in for free.

No legs of lamb at mine today. Got a chicken that was about £8 and a beef joint that was about £11. Added 4 extra bottles of wine, and got 25% off. It was definitely 25% off ALL wine when you buy 6 bottles. My extra wine was £4 a bottle, and got £7 off all 6, so I was pleased with that.
