My nearest supermarket is 12 miles away so every shop is a 24 mile round trip. Consequently, I only go once every three or four months and stock up on dry/tinned goods & cleaning stuff. Also, I'm not tempted to put other short-life stuff in the trolley!
All foodstuff is either grown (veg) or bought at the local shops - but even the butcher is 5 miles away.
Not living near shops certainly cuts the discretionary spending out! :j And you get focussed about every shopping trip as it's a nightmare if you get forget anything.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
