I would not worry about the car, if your grandmother paid for it she could still be the owner and you the registered keeper. But you could still claim the expenses associated with running the car on your SOA.

Have I missed the point here? the OP is discharged, surely she can now re-build her assets and the OR can't touch newly aquired assets after discharge that weren't owned before discharge? The only change you need to report in this case is 1. Increase in outgoings for payment of car expences 2, any "loan" more than £500, and that may not be necessary as the OP is discharged?

BUT darnit...the OP is still under an IPA so hence needs to inform the OR or moonbeever about ANY changes in circumstances for the full 36mnths after discharge

although...I agree the OR shouldnt say a thing about the car as its been bought by someone else as a "gift" ;) one things for sure they wont allow payments to pay someone back on an SOA (although what you do with your surplus is none of their interest)

(Hiya puzzled good to see you!!!!!):D

I don't understand. I thought that after discharge, even on an IPA, if you come into money, ie inheritance or life insurance or lottery for example, that was yours to keep, as the assests have been dealt with, it is just the income and expenditure that has to be declared?

nope ANY changes in financial circumstances MUST be reported to either moonbeever or the receivers office while still under an IPA
