70L compost in Asda

Don't know if anyone might find this of use, but Asda have 70L bags of 'professional recommended' compost (whatever that means!) they are £4 each or 2 for £6. Thought it was quite cheap, so grabbed a couple!

Take the price, take the number of litres in total and divide the litres into the price to get your price per litre, working it out then will give you the best bargain, that said the quality of it could be so so. Asda's at above prices is .042p per litre, B+Q is .047ppl.

  • Asda's stuff is VERY good - although 70 litres didnt last long for me!
  • I always find B&Q growbags as good as any compost, especially when they are on offer.

If anyone lives in Knowsley the council have been giving compost away this morning, and are continuing until it's all gone. Maximum allowed 4 bags x 20lts.

  • I've just bought some compost from Wyevale this afternoon (had vouchers to use up). Went for the multi buy 3 bags for £12, 60L bags, which seemed ok value (until I read thread on here!) as I had bought compost with the same offer towards the end of last year.

Thought the bags didn't feel quite as heavy though when unloading them. Checked one of the old bags which I had left over from last year, saw that the bag size was previously 70L. Crafty lot
