TK Maxx sales??

Options
I've recently 'discovered' TK Maxx and I quite like their accessories.

Any idea when they'll have their next sale on?

Are their sales any good at all???

No, TK Maxx doesn't have a sale as such.
However, they constantly have "clearance" isle. They can have items on display only several weeks (don't remember how long) at the "full price" and if it doesn't sell then it has to go to the clearance.

So if it is something pretty, you are better off buying it then waiting. The risk is quite high that it will be sold before it get's to clearance.

Ther's a way you can tell from the item ticket how long it's been on sale for ( thus whether it might soon end up in the clearance section). A kind member iof staff explained it to me but I can't remeber the specifics now.

TK Maxx do have a sale - they call it the end of season clearance - It gerenally happens twice a year - the last one was a few weeks ago and they reduce the stuff to as low as as 30p. You can tell when its on because the put a green or yellow further reductions banner over the red clearence signs. This time I bought various tops for 70p each, knickers and bras for 30p. A gorgeous leather trench coast for £13 and that was just the stuff in one bag - I bought three bags full!
There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.

As above, Tkmaxx always have a clearance rack or part of a rack in each section - there's usually a red cardboard sign sticking slightly above the rack saying clearance - that's always worth a look - most things around a third off.
But the golden rule with TKMaxx is if you see something and you like it, decide there and then if you want it as you're unlikely to ever find it there again at the same price, much less at reduced price.

I don't know when the clearance sales are, but once I saw it on here and thought I'd go for a look - it was awful *shudders* - TKmaxx is quite busy and messy at the best of times, this was just chaos. The only things left there that I saw were absolutely hideous things in random sizes, but very cheap, and people were just grabbing armfuls of stuff!

No offence to anyone who has bought stuff at it, I guess if you got there at opening and had a discerning eye you could pick up some great bargains, but I remember just looking at some of the things people were holding - luminous pink shiny jacket in size 24 - and thinking they'd regret that in the morning!

The other thing that's a bit odd with TKMaxx is their pricing - they tend to price similar-type items the same, meaning that some things in the same category are much better bargains than others. E.g. I got some Nike or Addidas Air-dri/Clima-cool breathable gym trousers, that were I think £12.99, instead of nearly £30, whereas unknown non air-dri non branded ones were priced the same, but probably wouldn't actually sell for any more than £13 anyway.

None taken- I think you do have to be in a certain frame of mind when your shopping there- and have a fairly good idea of what your looking for- one thing at a time. TKMaxx is not good for a quick browse, you need an hour plus and no children, bored boyfriends or time pressures! If the mounds of unsorted clothes don't get you, then the queues will!

Still one of my fave shops though- just not when its busy!
  • I just adore Tk Maxx! So many bargains to be had if you're not going there for something specific but just a general browse.
    Merry Christmas MSE!

I take my hat off to anyone who can just go in and "browse"! the stores I visit are so mixed up with customers chicking stuff on the floor, babies who want to go home and children playing who can scream the loudest- I have to preplan exactly what type of clothing I am looking for and keep to a list no more then 3 things per visit! Fab shop but OMG do they need help with thier tidying!

    I like it.

The stock varies considerably month by month. Just a word of caution - TK has some very good bargains on nice brands, BUT some of the prices can be beaten elsewhere.
