What year did The Glenlivet Distillery start producing legal whisky? 1824 (from here)

    hmm. this other site says legal right gained in 1880? (founded in 1824 though..- i entered with 1824 and that was accepted, so hey!

    Had a read and 1824 is when Glenlivet became 'legal' Think the other date dates relates to trademark issues - to stop other whiskies calling themselves Glenlivet
