No car hire for 20yo!

Hi everyone. I've been looking lately to hire a car to take myself, my son and wife from Scotland to Bedfordshire for a family visit. But unfortunatly, due to my age (20 years young) I cannot find a single company who can help. I do potentially have access to another car, but also cannot find short term insurance for my age group. Does anyone have any solutions?

    Sorry, I'm not aware of any firm that rents to under 21; and even those firms are few and far between. This might be a very dim (and therefore false) memory, but try your local Ford dealer, they may offer rental for younger drivers, but I doubt it will be below 21.

    I *THINK* EasyCar will do it for younger drivers - had a quick look at their website and it lets you enter a DOB from 1990 onwards - so def worth a pop :D

    Borrow a car and get them to add you to their insurance (might cost a bit).

    might be cheeper to go by train

    buy longer term insurance and cancel it when you no longer need it - as long as you find a company that refunds the remaining term
