Cheapest Weed Feed and moss killer

We have a large expanse of 'grass' which my oh seeded last year (approx 1/2 acre).

The grass seed was that slow to germinate that the weeds took hold really prickly weeds and all sorts we tried digging out in the autumn but there are too many weeds and we just made a mess.

We have got someone coming that wants to camp on that area (ouch):eek:

What is the best and cheapest way to deal with the weeds. My oh has back problems so digging just is not an option

I seem to recall that some weed and feed cant be used on new seed, so be careful when you get some and read instructions. This was Wilkos own brand I used

Hi the seed was laid last April so it should be ok now - sorry I forgot to mention that
