Can you use a bathfiller with a thermostatic mixer valve

Hi there
I am having a new bathroom installed and i wanted to use a bath filler which means the water comes out from where you would normally put the bath overflow. what I wanted to know was if it was possible to use one of these together with a 2 way thermostatic mixer which would also serve the shower above the bath this way I could use a bath without tapholes. I guess what I am really asking is if the 2 products are compatible
Many thanks
Robert

You will need either a separate diveter valve and thermostatic control or there are some shower valves with a built in diverter valve supplied. I think Hudson Reed do one. Certainly they do the freeflow filler with pop up waste you require.
I fitted one to my (no taphole) bath and used recessed wall mounted side valves (taps with no spout) instead of a diverter and thermostatic valve. I mounted these on the wall below the thermostatic shower valve. No reason why I would want to do this but I could have the shower over the bath going full bore at one temperature and the bath filler at full bore at an entirely different temperature at the same time.0 -
We have used something like this http://www.grohe.co.uk/m/25_939/page/modules/pn/article.php?part=view&action=view&product=19358G128&offset=15&amount=15 with one of these http://www.grohe.co.uk/m/25_28541/page/modules/pn/article.php?part=view&action=view&product=19952X998&offset=0&amount=15 and http://www.grohe.co.uk/m/25_28541/page/modules/pn/article.php?part=view&action=view&product=28991X998&offset=0&amount=15
Turn the top control to the left and water comes out of the shower, turn it to the right and it comes out behind the overflow. The bottom controls temperature.
We thought it was expensive till we worked out what a separate shower, bath taps and waste would cost, then it wasn't so bad. Very happy with the system.
