Ebay express

Does anybody have any thoughts on the new ebay express that will be up and running soon?
Do you think we will loose out with sales?
Will people choose to buy from there instead?
Like to know if you think it will be a good think or a bad thing.
You need to be registered as a business seller to sell on it, does that mean the tax man will be able to find you?

to be honest - with royal mail changing postage costs, i think more people will buy from online retailers, and also with the drive in sales at the mo, sometimes its cheaper to buy from online shop, also, you are guaranteed delivery and securty unlike ebayNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

It's another looney idea from ebay to make life even harder for sellers. It's ebay but for new products only by business sellers, or people willing to adopt business standards.
Plus a few more gems, like paypal only and a customer can send the goods back after a week just because they don't like the colour and then get a full refund. So as a seller, you've lost your profit, lost the money for delivery and you've now got an item that has probably lost a third of its value as the box has been opened and it has been used.
Fantastic, I'm going to order loads of products off of my competitors to try and bankrupt them.:dance:0 -

But under distance selling they can do this anyway if you are a business seller so this isnt really a change....it will just become more frequent as its being marketed as a benefit of eBay express.
In some ways for a business seller, eBay express sounds great.... no additional fees to sell on express so more exposure however this will not last. eBay are only starting express with no additional fees to get it up and running. Once its on its way they are bound to have seperate fees for eBay express.
Hopefully it will help products be compared fairly across competitors whereas on eBay my products with tiny profit margins still look expensive against the thousands of Chineese listings for 1p and £29.99 postage which eBay fail to stamp out!

I think that is true. I mostly buy DVDs. CDs and books and used to be able to get some excellent bargains. Nowadays I find the difference between what ebayers are charging and what the online shops are charging is not much and I prefer to go for the guaranteed new item.0 -
on the plus side though, those of us trying to run our ebay sales as a business, paying vat, taxes, offering comeback, warranty etc are more likely to be selling on a 'level playing field' rather than on ebay where wee jimmy thinks hes going to be the next richard branson for selling items for a pound more than he bought them for...0

The tax man monitors Ebay all the time ..not just businesses! It is easy to trawl through feedback and see if items are your own belongings or potentially if you are selling as a business (not so easy of you buy and sell things that LOOK like they could be yours!)I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes
