Hi All.
Not sure if this is the correct section but...
have had a problem with my Karcher pressure washer for a while so decided to do some searching to get it repaired. Found loads of posts on the net with the same problem and a resolution so made a note of the parts suggested for the repair and then phoned eSpares.co.uk to check that the parts were/are compatible with my model. After doing the relevant checks i was assured that the part WOULD be suitable for my machine so happily went ahead and placed the order (£17 inc p&P).
A week later the part arrives and i dismantle the Karcher and go to fit the part. Imagine my disappointment when it doesnt fit! I twisted it, flipped it, closed one eye and even put my glasses on to double check but there was no-way-on-earth that this part was gonna fit my Karcher.
I phoned eSpares to tell them about their error and the girl on the phone then went on to tell me I had ordered the WRONG part and that she could arrange a Returns note for a full refund MINUS £2.95 FOR THE RETURN! I pointed out that it was their error and i shouldnt have to pay ANY costs but this fell on deaf ears. If i wanted a refund, i had to send the item back and that meant incurring a charge (bit of a predicament!)
Ironically, the correct part was almost double the price of the part they originally said would be suitable.
After mulling the situation over for half-hour or so, i rang them back and asked to speak to the Manager (but was put through to the Customer Service Supervisor) who was completely useless. I was told there was no record of me phoning to to a product query and that the computer only shows that i rang to place an order - the sales person who took the call was away for 2 weeks so they couldnt varify the details until he returned (thats convenient!)
Anyway, eSpares were totally unhelpful in this matter so there was NO-WAY i was going to order the CORRECT part from them! I contacted https://www.cleanstuff.co.uk who were more than helpful. They confirmed the correct part and even had in the post the same day.
Arrived 2 days later and i now have a fully working Karcher again.:j
I've returned the eSpares part and received an email telling me they'll refund the payment (MINUS £2.99) and i'm in two-minds whether to fight this... £2.99 is better in my pocket than theirs especially seeing as they're at fault BUT it'll cost me more than that in stamps and time if i write letters of complaint
So... my first experience of buying spare parts for my Karcher has been a one to remember.
