Thinking of doing 2 a level courses distance learning, will I be able to get funding?

Options
Hi there all,
I've been thinking about taking A level Business studies and A level Accounting (I need to do A levels to get into a proper university) with ICS as they have been the most helpful in answering my questions, but I can hardly afford the rent let alone £60 a month for the course and £120 for all the exams I have to sit. So I was curious if anyone's ever gotten funding for courses like this. I'm only 18 with A levels in subjects people don't want around here...I could be on JSA but they messed me around till I quit it...

I have tried Open University, but they said that their courses wouldn't get me into University (although a friend of mine took courses with the OU to get into Uni).

Thank you all and have a good day :)

Kerry

You will not get govt funding for ICS courses.

Which university course do you wish to do? Is there a reason why you cannot attend a conventional college?
    Gone ... or have I?

My guess is the courses aren't available to the OP. I've been in this situation every time I've looked for an evening class.... in small towns and rural areas they simply don't do A levels (or a range of them). In my county you can't even do A level maths at evening class anywhere in the whole county.

You've asked the wrong people about this. Ask the university/ies you want to go to whether they will accept OU study for entrance to the degree you want to do. Many universities will accept this,as your friend found.

A friend of mine didn't have the A-Levels/Grades required to get into uni, so she did a summer access course with the uni instead and got in that way - may be worth thinking about :).
