final meeting regarding redundancy

Options
HI, Could you please advise?

I have just received letter that i have scored the lowest against the criterias and they will meet finaly in 2 days time. (I am off on that day and they know about it).Letter says, If the deciscion will be confirmed on this meeeting, redundancy note will be issued to me. There is no info in my letter about right to appeal. If they email me final notice on that day and day later i will send official letter to request appeal meeting, will it cancel the notice and new period of notice will start to run from the date of the decision made on appeal hearing? or it doesnt have any difference and even though i will have this appeal meeting (i know they are not going to change their mind) it will not delay my last day of work?

and - one off the criteria was attendance. I have been offsick due pregnancy can they calculate this? I scored low because of this.

mny thanks for your advices

As long as you told your employers you were pregnant then I would have thought you would be covered. If you hadn't told them then its fair they used it in their criteria...but check with ACAS
    Always ask ACAS

If you are not happy with the scores challenge them now

That's what the consultancy period is for.

I am assuming consultations is or have been in progress.

There will be no information on your right to appeal until your redundancy is confirmed - as you suggested, it may be in two days time.

If/when you do receive it, you will (should) be given a date of termination, details of your outstanding wages/holidays etc. and details of pay in lieu of notice (if applicable). The window to appeal is usually within 5 days after confirmation of your redundancy. Furthermore, should you appeal, the person hearing the appeal must be more senior than those involved with consultations and should not have been involved.

If your company has a redundancy policy, check it out. There may be some information in a company handbook if there is one.

Pregnancy is not an illness and pregnancy/pregnancy related illnesses should not have been considered as such in the scoring of the time and attendance section of your selection matrix - this is at least one reason to appeal against your redundancy if that turns out to be the case, however, bear in mind jdturk's comments about informing the company relating to your condition.

The timing of the appeal will have no bearing on the confirmed termination date - it is likely your termination date will take into consideration the potential of an appeal.
