Bank Account with no credit searches

I have looked through the basic bank account thread which was very useful but what I am trying to find out is what accounts can I open without a credit search.

I am apply for a remortgage with a low credit score, no adverse credit just a lot used due to house build and I need to sort out DDs as I have in the region of 40 per month and need to sort them out. I don't need an overdraft etc.

Opening a new account would allow me to do this. I recently opened a joint account at nationwide with my OH but they refused us a debit card based on a poor score. Again we didn't want an OD just a bills / expenditure account.

There are paid services like Think Banking & One which i believe do not credit search you. Don't quote me because i might be wrong but worth looking into.

Thanks for all this info, how can I be 100% sure they don't do a search? If I go into a branch are they really likely to know?

With Easycash you apply online. I have one and they only performed an ID check

"We are currently experiencing very high volumes of the Easycash application. This means that it may take longer than 7 days for us to begin the review of your application"

What is it with all these institutions at the moment, every where I turn there are huge delays for everything!!!!

They say that automatically with the Easycash application so i wouldn't worry too much.

I think the Barclays Cash Card Account doesn't need a credit check.

Even though, some banks do do credit check on basic bank accounts, I think you will still get it.

A friend of mine applied for a CAsh Card Account but was declined due to a CIFAS marker. The word CIFAS actually came up on the application screen. Surely they would only see this with a credit check?

I was advised by my bank - Barclays not to apply if I was concerned about any credit searches.
