Warning - Portman - £25 fee for doing nothing when changing insurance

Changed my insurance from Portman (my mortgage lender) to Barclay's who matched and gave (i hope) me £50.
No Portman want a £25 admin fee for, well nothing, just to put a note on my account to say who my insurance is with. Oh and as they pointed out to cover the cost of the letter they sent asking for the £25.
Worse still next renewal Barclay's will no longer be cheapest and I will end up paying another £25 to move insurance again. So thats my £50 gone, thats if Barclay's don't wriggle out of that too.
What a bunch of highway robbers, they will never get my business again, I already told them if they insist on this they can kiss my mortgage goodbye when I get the first opportunity.

Some home insurance companies will pay the mortgage fee for moving insurers. Is always worth checking with the insurer. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
